I'm a former engineer who's had a lifelong love for nutrition and health. What that means has evolved and changed over time.
From a nutrition standpoint, I subscribe to a more ancestral diet that minimizes refined foods in favor of nutrient-dense, whole foods. From an exercise and movement standpoint, I try to incorporate abundant and frequent movement, in alignment, throughout the day.
In the past I focused on the nutrition side of things, in conjunction with the typical exercise paradigm, as a means to achieve good health. But the prevailing conventional wisdom was really turned on its head for me when I discovered the work of biomechanist, Katy Bowman, and the Nutritious Movement Institute. When I learned more about biomechanics and it's impact on our physiology, I realized THIS was the missing flipside of the coin. It was a true eureka moment!
As a former engineer, understanding the physics of Restorative Exercise was very intuitive for me. I knew the next step was to become a certified Restorative Exercise Specialist-CPT. It's been a mind-blowing learning journey. Now I am excited to, literally and figuratively, bring loads of health into the lives of my clients.
